<abstract displayLabel="Summary">Entre las piezas susceptibles de sustitución a lo largo de la vida útil de un vehículo de motor ligero (turismo) o pesado (camión), se encuentran los elementos que actúan por fricción: pastillas de freno, zapatas de freno y discos de embrague. La parte de estos elementos sometida a fricción está constituida por un material, en cuya formulación se incluye siempre un componente fibroso. El componente fibroso utilizado tradicionalmente casi de forma exclusiva ha sido la variedad crisotillo de amianto, conocida también como amianto blanco</abstract>
