<abstract displayLabel="Summary">Desde sus orígenes, en los años sesenta, SEAIDA ha sido el gran centro de promoción del estudio del Derecho de los Seguros, con una implicación directa de sus miembros en los trabajos de redacción los principales textos normativos del ámbito asegurador que han regido en España en el último medio siglo. Rafael Illescas, su presidente, aboga por el fomento de la iniciativa y por la libertad de empresa, subrayando que la ley debe establecer claramente la libertad en el aseguramiento de grandes riesgos y la tutela del consumidor en los riesgos de consumo. Considera que antes de renovar una ley debe analizarse con detenimiento en qué grado quiere hacerse y en el caso de que haya que redactar un nuevo texto debe acometerse con la perspectiva de hacer una ley para el futuro. </abstract>
