<abstract displayLabel="Summary">Las prestaciones públicas son la piedra angular del apoyo a los ingresos de las personas mayores en los países de la OCDE, y suponen, de media, el 60% de los ingresos durante la vejez. el 40% restante se divide, casi de manera uniforme, entre las pensiones privadas y otros ahorros, por una parte, y los ingresos del trabajo por otra. La función del sector público de proporcionar ingresos durante la vejez seguirá siendo muy importante, aunque todo apunta a que disminuirán.
