<abstract displayLabel="Summary">Los accidentes in itinere, aquellos que sufren los trabajadores al ir o volver del trabajo, son una de las principales causas de los siniestros de tipo laboral y están asimilados, en cuanto a sus consecuencias legales, a un accidente de trabajo. Su caracterización ha ido evolucionando en el tiempo a través de las leyes laborales y las sentencias judiciales. Este trabajo realiza una revisión de los criterios mantenidos por la doctrina y la jurisprudencia para la calificación de este tipo de accidentes. El objetivo es contribuir a la elaboración de un manual práctico para consulta de facultativos y médicos, como ayuda a la comprensión del ámbito de aplicación del accidente in itinere</abstract>
