<abstract displayLabel="Summary">No hay mejor imagen para expresar la relación entre el riesgo y la agricultura que la de una isla rodeada, y también cubierta, de riesgos por todas las partes. Clásicamente se mencionan al menos los riesgos asociados a las incertidumbres del clima y de los mercados que afectan a la producción y a los precios. Un reciente trabajo del Banco Mundial, en colaboración con la Empresa brasileña de Investigación Agropecuaria (Embrapa) y el Ministerio de Agricultura, Pecuaria y Abastecimiento (MAPA) de Brasil, menciona las ocho dimensiones del riesgo agropecuario, agrupadas  en tres grupos: riesgo de producción, riesgo de mercado y riesgos del ambiente de negocio</abstract>
