Indonesia : pandemic presents new reality to life / Ridwan Abbas

Sumario: Indonesia's life insurance sector suffered a pre-tax loss of IDR6.59tn ($472m) at the end of 4Q19 last year, compared to IDR190bn profit in 4Q18. This was mainly due to a 39% decrease in investment income and 2% increase in total expenses. Meanwhile, net premium income saw a slight drop of 1% to IDR179.35tn, driven by lower gross written premium and higher reinsurance premiums ceded.
