<abstract displayLabel="Summary">La salud es un derecho humano fundamental y un pilar esencial para el desarrollo social inclusivo y sostenible. La meta 3.8 de los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible (ODS) insta a garantizar la cobertura sanitaria universal (CSU), asegurando el acceso a servicios de salud esenciales con protección financiera. Sin embargo, América Latina y el Caribe enfrenta múltiples desafíos estructurales en sus sistemas de salud en un contexto de una crisis del desarrollo marcada por tres trampas del desarrollo que limitan su avance. La CEPAL urge la necesidad de transformar los modelos de desarrollo de la región y fortalecer los sistemas de salud mediante un aumento sostenido y eficiente del financiamiento público</abstract>
