Total losses reached approximately $131 billion, slightly below 2024 but well above long-term averages. Insured losses were around $80 billion, the second-highest ever recorded for a first half-year. The most significant event was the Palisades and Eaton wildfires in the U.S., which caused $53 billion in total losses and $40 billion in insured lossesthe highest wildfire-related insured losses ever. Other major events included earthquakes in Asia, severe storms and tornadoes in the U.S., and floods in Africa. The report also breaks down losses by continent, showing North America and Asia-Pacific as the most affected regions.
