Using stochastic mortality models, the study estimates excess deaths from 2020 to 2023 and evaluates heterogeneity across age groups and regions. It examines the relationship between excess mortality and socioeconomic factors such as government effectiveness, healthcare quality, and mobility. The paper also develops forward-looking mortality scenarios using Monte Carlo simulations to assess long-term implications for life expectancy.
