Sumario: This register-based study analyses first-time entry into publicly funded long-term care among older adults in Stockholm between 2015 and 2022. Using data from the SNAC Stockholm Elder care study, it examines sociodemographic characteristics, care needs at entry, and the type and amount of care granted. Results show an increasing proportion of older people entering long-term care with extensive dependency, particularly in activities of daily living. The findings highlight the interaction between care needs, informal care, and policy frameworks, and raise concerns about delayed entry into long-term care and missed opportunities for early intervention
