The Allianz Global Wealth Report 2026 analyzes global household wealth dynamics in 20252026. It finds gross financial assets reached EUR268.4trn in 2025 (+8.6%), with markets doing most of the heavy lifting while real gains lagged due to inflation. Portfolio structure, especially securities exposure, drove regional outperformance, with North America contributing over half of global asset increases. Household debt growth stayed subdued and the global debt ratio continued to fall, strengthening net financial positions (EUR211.5trn, +10.1%). Real estate showed a hesitant recovery with stark regional differences. Distributionally, global concentration eased only marginally; within-country inequality has barely changed in two decades. AI emerges as a pivotal upside and risk: it could shift value creation toward capital, widen divides if gains accrue to profits, and increase volatility if earnings disappoint. The outlook foresees around +9% asset growth in 2026, settling to +56% medium term.
