<abstract>Los compuestos aromáticos nitrados son uno de los contaminantes industriales más comunes. Sus características tóxicas hacen que estén clasificados, para su eliminación o reciclado, entre los trece primeros contaminantes prioritarios, según la EFP (Environmental Protection Agency) en Estados Unidos. Por otra parte, los recientes desarrollos en ingeniería electroquímica y en materiales electródicos han despertado el interés por el uso de estas teconologías limpias en el medio ambiente, constituyendo una buena alternativa, especialmente donde los procesos biotecnológicos son difilcilmente válidos</abstract>
