<abstract>El Instituto Mapfre de Seguridad Vial y la Asociación Española de la Carretera (AEC) han analizado de forma exhaustiva los más de 200.000 siniestros de circulación ocurridos en España entre 1997 y 2001. Han descubierto que existen 1.868 kilómetros en los que no se han producido accidentes con víctimas mortales en un período de, al menos, cinco años. Son las llamadas "carreteras blancas"</abstract>
