<abstract>Las becas de investigación y formación constituyen uno de los pilares básicos sobres los que descansa la actuación de la FUNDACIÓN MAPFRE. Los resultados de esos programas de ayuda resultan espectaculares: más de 450 proyectos de investigación, desarrollados en España, Portugal y diversos países iberoamericanos, se han llevado a cabo desde que se instituyeron. El punto de partida es 1979, pero el gran impulso cualitativo se produjo cuando la Fundación suscribió un convenio marco de colaboración con el Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas. Ello permitió firmar acuerdos con ocho insititutos integrados en el área del citado Consejo</abstract>
