<abstract>Las últimas becas concedidas por la FUNDACIÓN MAPFRE, con el título "Ocurrencia de huracanes en el Caribe a partir de datos del Archivo General de Indias", tienen por objetivo recopilar información sobre la ocurrencia de huracanes y tormentas severas en el Caribe, especialemente en la costa de México, a partir de las fuentes documentales existentes en el Archivo General de Indias, y realizar un análisis de las series temporales de esos fenómenos a fin de detectar la presencia de patrones repetitivos. Este artículo se adentra en el análisis de estos sucesos y resume las conclusiones del estudio</abstract>
