We begin by asking him: what makes a good survey or poll? The quality of the questions is crucial, the aspect that I'm personally most interested in, and which I think is an under-appreciated art, he says. The answers to a survey depend on the framing of the questions. In order to understand the structure of public opinion, you need to come at it from a number of different angles.</note>
