<abstract displayLabel="Summary">Durante los días 23, 24 y 25 de enero de 2009, el sur de Francia, el norte de España y algunas zonas de Italia sufrieron los efectos del ciclón extratropical Klaus, que dejó a su paso graves pérdidas económicas y varias decenas de víctimas mortales. En el presente artículo se describen la formación y características de los ciclones extratropicales, así como el impacto que el paso del Klaus tuvo por España y sobre los Grandes Riesgos. </abstract>
