      <subfield code="a">Insurance companies entering this new market are challenged to innovate to reach a large body of unserved and diverse consumers. They are starting to look at Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) with both interest and some caution. There are compelling, long-term reasons for multinationals to look at Africa: an economy that has tripled since 2002 and International Monetary Fund forecasts that put 11 African countries among the top 20 fastest-growing economies by 2017. Demographic and economic growth forecasts estimate that in the next 50 years, Africa will comprise 30% of the world's population and the region's consumption will generate internal growth. </subfield>
